Dubai Watch Week is a perfect platform for presenting limited editions and unique pieces. For the Ferdinand Berthoud teams, it is the opportunity to present a bead-blasted titanium version of its award-winning FB 1 Chronometer, demonstrating once again their ability to surprise us with each of their creations.
The Ferdinand Berthoud Chronomètre FB1 was the first model presented by Ferdinand Berthoud to fine watchmaking connoisseurs in 2016. Presented in a 44mm octagonal case and driven by an exceptional movement with a tourbillon regulator, a fusée-and-chain and a Maltese Cross stopwork, the Chronomètre FB1 received several industry accolades, including the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2016.
Each of Ferdinand Berthoud’s creations has its own identity and the unique piece unveiled on the occasion of the 2021 edition of Dubai Watch Week is presented in a sporty yet elegant bead-blasted titanium case (the watch weighing just 80g). Its silvered galvanic dial features an offset circular blue hour and minute subdial with white Arabic numerals. The dagger-shaped skeletonized hour and minute hands are fashioned out of white gold.
Inside is the hand-wound Calibre FB-T.FC-2, the version of the FB 1 chronometer fitted with sapphire bridges – these offer an unimpeded view on the splendid movement architecture, its intricacies and the impressive attention to detail lavished on the hand-decoration. Its precision is officially certified by the COSC.
The Ferdinand Berthoud Chronomètre FB1.4-3 comes on a dark blue alligator strap with an alligator lining. It is secured with a safety folding buckle in titanium. this unique piece is priced at CHF 198,000.
